The 26cm Hernia Support Belt: Advanced Support for Abdominal Hernias (Available on Medical Card, Drugs Payment Scheme)

Hernias and abdominal bulges are common, but there are proactive steps you can take to support your body and improve your overall well-being. Research suggests that individuals who engage in physical activity and wear appropriate support garments are less likely to report hernia-related complications.

The Role of Physical Activity and Support Garments

A combination of core-strengthening exercises, physiotherapy, and well-fitted support garments can significantly improve comfort and help manage hernias effectively. Maintaining an active lifestyle, even with limited mobility, can enhance post-surgical outcomes for those requiring intervention. Small, frequent movements—such as setting a reminder to change positions every 20–30 minutes—can help strengthen core muscles and improve circulation.

Recognizing the importance of both physical and mental well-being, we have developed the 26cm Hernia Support Belt, a clinically designed device to provide effective abdominal reinforcement.

Key Benefits of the 26cm Hernia Support Belt

  • Provides targeted abdominal support to help manage hernias and reduce strain on weakened muscles.
  • Helps smooth and support the shape of the body, offering greater discretion under clothing.
  • Designed with a breathable cotton lining, minimizing perspiration and reducing the risk of leaks.
  • Moulds to the contours of the hernia, stoma, or bulge without restricting stoma function or output.
  • Adjustable compression through a wide 20cm Velcro fastening, allowing for personalized support based on activity level.

Designed for All-Day Wear

The 26cm Hernia Support Belt is engineered for comfort, security, and flexibility in various activities, including:

  • Everyday movements such as household chores, walking, and lifting children.
  • Physical activity, including cycling, running, and gym use.
  • Occupational settings that involve standing, bending, or lifting.

How to Wear the 26cm Hernia Support Belt

There are three ways to apply the belt for optimal comfort and support:

  1. Wrap and Secure Method – Insert one hand inside the glove, hold the opposite end of the belt, and extend it around the waist. Adjust the compression level before securing the Velcro, ensuring the fastening stays clear of the stoma.
  2. Step-In Method – Fasten the Velcro in advance, step into the belt, and pull it up to the abdomen. This provides a secure fit without interfering with the stoma appliance.
  3. Lying-Down Method – For individuals with an existing hernia, lying on the back before securing the belt allows for maximum hernia reduction and support.

For additional guidance, refer to our instructional video.

To empty a stoma appliance while wearing the belt, simply pull up the bottom edge for quick access or remove and reapply as needed.

Sizing and Fit Guide

For the best fit, measure the fullest part of your abdomen (usually at stoma level) in centimeters. Use this measurement to select the correct belt size:

For example, if your measurement is 112cm, you would require a Large belt (95cm–115cm).

With its adjustable Velcro fastening, the 26cm Hernia Support Belt provides a customizable fit without the need for further modifications.
